het is hier rustig de laatste tijd...
Iedereen druk bezig met de parameterguide?
Om toch maar de Kronos te temmen.
Voor de liefhebbers waar ik ook zeker toe behoor,
heb ik hier een site, waar men gratis programs kan downloaden.
Ik vind het een leuk alternatief voor al die dure expansions.
Er zit natuurlijk een hoop kaf tussen het koren.
Maar als je de moeite neemt om het kaf er uit te zeven, dan hou je net als mij veel mooie programs over.

Op de site kies je voor patches, en daarna uit de keuzelijst de Kronos. Er komt dan een lijst van allerlei gratis programs tevoorschijn. In sommige gevallen kun je via de button patches, oproepen wat er in zo'n download staat.
Zelf heb ik een aantal leuke Brass en woodwinds gehaald uit de download: Brasswinds 1, van William Busch.
De classic synth collection van Michael Larouche heeft ook een paar mooie Triton programs.
Dan Stesco, is een download, waarvan je eerst het filmpje kunt beluisteren om te horen wat je gaat downloaden.
Zelf heb ik voor deze Kronos een korte tijd de M3 gehad.
Ik miste na de Kronos toch wel wat leuke programs uit de M3.
Via de pakketten HD1 expansions 1 en 2 heb ik eigenlijk bijna alle programs uit de M3 kunnen downloaden. Dus mijn Kronos is eigenlijk ook een M3 geworden.
En tot slot heb ik ook veel gehad aan de Mod7 extra sounds van Korg zelf, daar krijg je toch weer een heel ander geluidsbeeld van de veelzijdige Mod-7 engine.
Dat zijn zo ongeveer de downloads, die ik zelf mooi vond.
Maar er staan er nog veel meer.
Dit is een ideale mogelijkheid een aantal van de extra banken, verkregen bij de enerlaatste update 1.5 gratis te vullen. 
Veel plezier ermee.

ik heb hem geinstalleerd deze update, een enorme verbetering. De nieuwe Orgel mogelijkheden zijn echt geweldig. Ook die nieuwe gratis orgel soundset met presets van onder andere Keith Emerson zijn een goede uitbreiding van de standaard kronos sounds.
Als je met combi's speelt (live of gewoon voor de fun) dan is er een hele mooie setting in het global menu waarin je het gebruik op "Live" mode kunt zetten. Het mooie is dan dat de mute knoppen op je kronos niet meer het soundkanaal dichtgooien maar nu de Midi toevoer uitschakelen. Dit betekent in de praktijk dus dat al je geluiden die je niet meer gebruikt geen polyfonie meer opeten.

* KRONOS software version 2.1
KRONOS software version 2.1 adds several new features, including a newly improved CX-3 engine plus three new features tailored for live performance: real-time indication of the Rotary Speaker speed in all performance modes, a polyphony-saving option for Timbre/Track Mute, and the ability to assign external MIDI CCs (from a pedal controller, for instance) to a number of special functions. For more information, please see the updated PDF manuals and the onboard Help system.
In addition to these new features, the update includes various improvements and resolutions to specific operational issues. For more information, please see the Release Notes.
We recommend that all KRONOS and KRONOS X users update to version 2.1.0. This update may be installed on any KRONOS, regardless of the currently installed system version; it is not necessary to install intermediate upgrades first.
* KRONOS Editor version 2.1
This new version of the Editor supports (and requires) KRONOS software version 2.1.0, including the new CX-3 features and the Global Mute Mode parameter. It also adds Overview/Page Jump functionality: clicking on most of the graphics on the Program Play Main page, such as filters, LFOs, or envelopes, will jump to the appropriate page of parameters, similar to the KRONOS's Play Page. In addition to these new features, the update includes various improvements and resolutions to specific operational issues.
* Updated factory sounds
To accompany KRONOS software version 2.1, we've released a new version of the factory sounds: PRELOAD_V2.PCG. This includes updated CX-3 Programs in banks I-A and U-C, which take advantage of the new CX-3 features in KRONOS system version 2.1.
* KRS-06: CX-3 Signature Sounds
To celebrate the updated CX-3, we asked some of our favorite organ players to collaborate with us on a new set of sounds. The result is KRS-06: CX-3 Signature Sounds, a bank of 128 EXi Programs which deliver the distinctive timbres of these acclaimed artists and take full advantage of the new CX-3 features.
* KRONOS Sub-System Firmware Version 6.04
This update to the KRONOS low-level sub-system improves communication with USB 3.0 ports on Windows computers and improves the startup screen. It also includes various other improvements. Updater applications are provided for Mac OS X and Windows. We recommend that all KRONOS and KRONOS X users perform this update.
